Turret Arch as Seen through the North Window at Sunrise- Arches National Park- Utah USA.
We had camped along the Colorado River where it had rained all night. It seemed like it would be an overcast, dreary day and the temptation was to sleep in. But we got up before sunrise, drove and hiked over to this viewpoint anyway while carrying my massive four by five inch field view camera. To our amazement, the sun broke through the clouds at sunrise, yielding this gorgeous sight, and then it rained again.
As a note, because the original image was taken on large format film, this image should reproduce wonderfully at very big enlargements.

Thanks so much. Before sunrise that day, it was raining, so getting a sunrise photo seemed hopeless. But we went out anyway, and lo and behold and the sun broke out for a few moments right at sunrise, and I got this shot with the arch illuminated and the passing storm in the background.
